World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The feature of upgrading items lets players upgrade their equipment. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stats and provide extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for build casters.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element in keeping him safe from harm. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, you can enhance its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.
The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect a person or animal from harm or injury in the form of direct physical attack or from an array of dangers posed by the environment and activities. Historically, most armour was made from fabric or leather, but metal protections were also employed, especially for military applications like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
There are a variety of ways to upgrade your armour, but the majority of them require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, but requiring a higher cost in rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to remember about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades and once they've been applied they can't be replaced unless there is another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is essential to only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your equipment and that you have the required materials to complete them.
In terms of acquiring the necessary upgrade components you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule including merchants, shrines and even enemies. They are typically marked by an orange triangle or a gold circle symbol. They are available in large numbers as you progress. While they may appear randomly, there is an opportunity that obtaining certain upgrade components will lead to an adventure that rewards you with more.
It is also important to note that, even though the level of protection provided by each upgrade differs, it is the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that will protect against all types of attacks and will also protect against magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for all classes.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that make them unique. They can increase the damage, alter the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your specific build and even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll need an upgrade component in place and the item. The weapon must be at a minimum of a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only take one upgrade.
There are weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and from the hands of enemies, or they can be bought from a merchant. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of ingredients that can be incorporated into weapons, armor trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They require the equipment to be of a certain degree to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mixture of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they can be used to enhance the stats of a base weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. They can be found among enemies dropped in the open world, bought from a few merchants or found as drops in combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
It's important to prioritize upgrading your best-in-slot items first, and then those you won't be replacing in the near future. If you're playing a melee build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest before your hands and feet. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some procs may be better than others depending on your playstyle. Armour is no different, with some Reforges being better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic at a time. If an upgrade project has been cancelled, no more upgrades will be made for that item. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, however they may have additional benefits.
A magical item is any item that has some special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, however some are also shields, armor and cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other objects. Some of these items can be converted into a sentient.
Most magical items can be upgraded so that they are enhanced with new abilities. This can make them more useful to players or aid them overcome a difficult encounter. An infused weapon might provide bonuses to damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is particularly beneficial for characters who have reached a stage at which they will likely face the same kind of monster in dungeons repeatedly.
An infused ring might confer protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing damages from non-magical attacks (not including silver-plated ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. item upgrading can be particularly helpful for melee martial characters or any other character who would like to avoid the hassle and expense of buying a shield.
Certain items enchanted by magic have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells in addition to the ones on the list of spells for their class. This can be useful for characters that have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the number of Intelligence point expended.
Other items that are enchanted can allow the user to alter their appearance, or create an entirely new one. These items can be especially useful for characters that were forced to leave their home or are located in an area in which they are not welcome. A magical item could provide them with an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to everyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which does not fall into the categories of Armor or Clothing and come with a range of capabilities. Contrary to Weapons and Armor and Clothing, no utility item is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items have a passive effect which players can activate while using them. However, some have additional abilities that are activated by pressing a button or activating a skill.
The most popular kind of utility item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly produced in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or projects at the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the regular inventory, players can unlock some more useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
The majority of utility items provide the player with a navigational advantage or increase a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, made by a Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, crafted by a Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other items that are useful can be used by the player to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot can be obtained by acquiring certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows players to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is equipped in the main grenade slot.
